Honestly, I am still shocked right now. I never linked my symptoms with the Essure, but it appears that all of my symptoms are similar to ones that others have as well. Long story short, I had the Essure done in 2008 (age 31). I was going to have tubal ligation after our miracle son was born, but after reading the pamphlet and doing an internet search, which turned up nothing negative, I chose to do the Essure. I had just had a caesarean section, at which time my doctor would not do the tubal ligation because our son was born with Down syndrome. The Essure was to be quick and easy, and our son had major health issues and I needed to be there for him. I went to the follow-up to ensure everything was working correctly, and all was good. I remember being shocked when I was told I never needed to follow up, but who am I to argue since I am not a doctor.
In 2011, I started having pain in my arm, wrist, hand, which has spread to my back and neck. I had carpel tunnel surgery in 2012 because that’s what the doctors thought it was, but the pain didn’t go away, so I have spent the last couple of years having nerve tests, bone tests, blood tests, and so much more done. I am having my period more often, with clots, so I just went to have blood work done to see if I am starting menopause early. I just started looking up side effects of Essure because I can no longer have sex with my husband without pain and bleeding (started about a year ago). I have a high threshold for pain (walked around 4 hours after caesarean) and never connected the Essure with all of the symptoms. Without going through anymore of my story, here are the issues I have now, all of which have come about since having the Essure. I now have had surgery on my linguistic tonsil for problems swallowing, allergies (never had them before and didn’t move), have gained weight, loss of energy, have Hoshimoto’s, headaches almost every day, pain in my right side (back through fingers) to the effect that I have twice the strength in my left side than my right and I am right handed, I have my period more frequently with serious pain and bloating, sex hurts (sometimes during, sometimes after) and is followed by bleeding, I have constipation, and finally I have become forgetful (may be because of the other stuff though). At this point, I no longer complain becasue I feel like the doctors think I am that crazy person, but I will be checking to see if I can get it removed asap.
