I am a 36 year old mother of three beautiful daughters. My last daughter was born march 9, 2012. I had the procedure in May of that year and had my follow up I believe in July. For the last two years I have been miserable. Originally thought it was just older age. I thought okay I have this weight that I can’t shake and I feel tired all off the time, hmm guess it’s just my age. Well, then came the chronic fevers and severe abdominal pain. I have no sex drive like I did before. I hadn’t had a PAP in a while and really started freaking out. My temp was running around 99.2 or so but has gotten worse over the last few months and now is running 100.2. I started researching Essure and realized soon enough it had to be the cause of all my problems. I have noticed more pain in my right side than the left and that really started after placement. When my doctor inserted the coil into my right Fallopian tube it hurt immediately and has never stopped hurting. Well, last night it came to a head. My playful two year decided to use my right ovary as a trampoline. I felt like something burst and was in immediate severe pain. I couldn’t walk, use the restroom, roll over, or even pass gas without almost passing out from the severe pain. I don’t currently have insurance and couldn’t afford to just run to the ER. I suffered through the night and made into work this morning. did I mention that I am a registered nurse and work with a room full of them! Lol anyways they urged to seek medical attention. My doctor assessed me and said I had chronic salpingitis which sounds much better saying an infection in my Fallopian tube. He said this is exactly why he won’t insert Essure. He then did a vaginal exam and I almost went through the ceiling it hurt so bad. He said my uterus was trying to prolapse and suggested a partial or complete hysterectomy. I want it gone and want my normal self back! That’s my story. I’m sure there are things I can’t think of right at this moment.
