I had the Essure placement done in Jan. 2011 after my 5th child was born. Everything was going good until November of 2011 when I noticed my period was really light and in Dec. I did not get it at all. I went in for my yearly exam and the Dr. did a pregnancy test that came back negetive. In Jan. 2012 I was scheduled for foot surgery and still had not got my period so I did an at home test and found out that my husband and I were pregnant. I called the Dr. who made me go in for a blood test the next day and the result of that was my levels were over 3000 so they set up and ultra sound for the day after. I was 6 weeks along! Our daughter is very healthy and luckily she was not in my tubes due to the essure! The Doctors still to this day have no clue where my essure placement is in my body! Or if they are even there at all. I remember when I had the procedure done it took almost two hours for them to get the coils in and I went through tremendous amounts of pain through the procedure and afterwards and bled for almost 3 months straight! I have never been through that much pain in my life! If I had to reccomend this to someone I would tell them no amount of birth control is worth that much pain during and after for it not only not to work but cause long term complications.
